Y2sisters II

My friend Anni doesn't live in Copenhagen at the moment, but she is planning to move back to Copenhagen and also currently visiting Copenhagen rather frequently, which is really nice! It will be much easier to meet up and do stuff together when she moves back here.

Anyway, about two weeks ago she was in Copenhagen and we did some photo shoot again.

And a photo of the blurry photographer.

These photos are taken near the 'Black Diamond', which is the Royal Library in Copenhagen. It's in the very center of the city, on Slotsholmen. It's actually one of the places me and some close friends really like to go in summer time. Lots of stairs to sit on, facing the water but never have strong wind (seriously, it's always windy in Denmark, so windy), just light breeze, and there is a very fascinating dome-shaped café right by the stairs, I personally love that little dome and its interior. It's definitely a nice spot for some relaxing sunny afternoons.

Right, that's basically all for now.

Have a nice day! Xx

Y2sisters

Anni and Anwan started their fashion blog a while ago, they call it Y2sisters .

These extremely good and healthy looking twin sisters are very into fashion and styling, and they are good at it. They've already posted many very nice styles and got approached by different parties and event organizers.

I love that fact that they are also my frequent photoshoot models ;)

Aaand these are some of the recent photoshoots we've taken, it was in June I think.

Location: Sydhavn area, Copenhagen
Model: Anni from Y2sisters

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer! Xx

Wandering in the city

Wanted to post another set of pictures long time ago, before the summer actually, but never did. I guess it's because I went back to hometown for the summer and was mostly enjoying the life where mum took care of everything. Uhhh, this kind of comfy life is too precious, only get to have very few weeks of it every year. So I turned my productivity down to 0 for the whole summer…

And now I'm back.

I wrote ''Summer has passed, even though it's only august. Copenhagen is windy everyday, windy AND rainy. Feels like late autumn already. Hope there are few more warm days to come.'' When I first wrote this post, but voila! The weather has been such a surprise since it entered September, it has been like summer the whole time, 22 degrees today, it's almost like tropical for this northern country. This is making my life slightly better from the thesis stress.

I never say no to wondering in the city. I've lived in Copenhagen for quite a few years, but there are still lots of places to be discovered.

Gonna put on some pictures that were taken before the summer vacation, when I went for a stroll with Wan, as we planned to take a set of photos of her. She's quite photogenic, you'll see.

Anyway, this set is taken at several places in Copenhagen, the Lakes (Søerne), Sydhavnen area and Island Brygge.

After screening these photos I realised my favorite background/environment for portrait photos are those extremely simple ones, plain colors or patterns. So might actually try another set with her.

Enjoy the last bit of summer!

Corrupted picture files

I just experienced the first and worst shock since I started taking portrait photos. My SD card was somehow corrupted in my own trustworthy laptop before I can even copy and save them on the computer or my external hard drive…

The worst part is, it was a practice shoot but also supposed to be used for this friend's art work. When I first realized the photo was gone, I couldn't believe it and tried everything to make them show up again, I tried to put the SD card back to the camera, tried to put the card back in the mac again but the only thing there was just a weird file that can't be opened, and it was named with some weird symbols.

I panicked, which I rarely do! I tried all the methods to repair the memory card, but nothing… eventually I decided to pay about 300 kr. to buy this StellarPhoenix repairing software, and it worked, I got around 120 pictures back… until I found out they were mostly thumbnail files… my mood was like on a roller coaster.

Anyway, I got about 15 undamaged pictures back, which are of course not the best ones.

Learned the lesson, will always copy and save all the pictures before I touch any of the files on the SD card… But this will always happen, it can't be completely avoided I guess. Then I do recommend this StellarPhoenix repairing software, this company has a series of softwares for different problems, personally I only recommend the one called 'StellarPhoenix Photo Recovery' tho, as it has actually recovered some pictures, and many other free or cheaper memory card repairing software did not even recover anything. The JPEG repairing software from this company, however, did not repair any pictures to a usable condition.

Enough about the depressing SD card incident for now. I took some picture with my iphone recently and really like them, wanna share with you :)

The other day I was having a 'reduce the guilt from eating too much sweets' walk, I saw this by the water between Christianhavn and Amager.

And yes, the World Cup. It made Island Brygge extra cozy, as Danish people say, hyggeligt :) I went there for a few times when the sun was generous, and the dusk view at that area, is simply amazing.

Always love the dusk, it's my favorite time of the day. And the dusk of Danish summer surprises me, every time.

A quite surprising discovery

As a person that can get distracted by so many things so easily, I am always looking for comfortable places to study, no, really. I don't know why but I can't really do that at home, and school is always packed, so I prefer some nice and quite but not too quite cafés.

One day, when I was 'struggling' at home again, Yue called and told me she's been studying at a new campus of her school, KEA, which is near Empire Bio in Nørrebro, and it has quite nice environment. It's always fun to explore new places, especially when your friends recommend them to you, so I went there for a stroll.

It turned out to be quite a little surprise :D

Really like the industrial elements in the little café, and all the designing feelings. It's not crowded at all, but still has some studying atmosphere, me like.
